What a great project this was. Our client was a busy professional planning to retire soon and she wanted a room she could call her own that served multi-purposes. It was adjacent to her closets, so she wanted it to be open enough for a dressing area, have display space for jewelry, scarves, and treasures from her travels, have a space for crafting, a desk for work, and a place to relax and read. Whew! A tall order for a small space.

This was the before of the space. Pretty crowded and not very functional.

WWe called the project Ocean Blue and choose a deep but vibrant blue for the walls. We simplified the wall decor with just three white shell sculptures framed and backed with sand-colored wallpaper. The cozy chair in the corner and craft table give us those multi-purpose options the client needed. We even hid magazine racks behind the drapery so she could store her favorite Coastal Living issues without looking like a hoarder! ?

Built-in bookshelves now surrounded the room for storage and display space while files and a printer hide neatly in a credenza next to the desk.
