The city of Naples, Florida was founded in 1880, taking its name from the famous Italian city because of their similarly beautiful scenery. Naples has a relatively small population in the city itself, but boasts one of the highest per capita incomes and the second highest number of millionaires in the U.S. While Maseratis and Ferraris are a common sight here, it’s the abundant wildlife and low-key coastal vibe that leave an impression on visitors. It’s cool and cultured with a touch of European flair that keeps you coming back for more.

During my last visit there, I was inspired by the gorgeous colors of the water and sky at the beach.  At times, the water was the perfect shade of seafoam green with light taupe sand and light blue skies.  In the evening, the water darkened to a deep slate blue and the clouds and sky would turn a pretty periwinkle.  These colors became the basis for the collection and our prints came next.  The collection celebrates Naples’ flora and fauna. From the orchids found tucked into nooks and crannies in everyone’s backyards, to the amazing assortment of shells found on the beaches, to the numerous pelicans that are constant companions anywhere near the water.

We recently had the opportunity to showcase the entire collection at the International Furniture Market in High Point, North Carolina. We were invited to design a space in the first ever Showhouse within a Showroom at Alden Parkes.  The Alden Parkes furniture line features a variety of styles, but the one that paired perfectly with our Naples-inspired fabrics was their Coastal Casual furniture collection.  Response from designers from around the world was very positive as was our concept of “bringing vacation home.”

Up next, we’ll be taking our fabrics and resort-inspired style to the popular Etsy platform soon. where you’ll be able to purchase pillows, placemats, napkins, bedding and window treatments in all of our prints.  Be sure to sign up for our e-mail list if you are not already a member of the club.  When we launch the new shop, we’ll be sending coupons and exclusive sales for members only.

Stay cool friends!

The Monstera print is shown on the placements and the 5th Avenue print adds a pop of periwinkle to the napkins. Our tablescape received many ohs and ahs at the Alden Parkes Showhouse in a Showroom.
